Prem Chopra’s HEALTH IS BETTER NOW — ‘He’s Feeling Much Better,’ Says Family — Exclusive!”

Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated on-screen villains, is reportedly on the road to recovery after being hospitalised in Mumbai. The 92-year-old actor, known for his powerful performances across generations, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday following a viral infection and age-related complications.

According to an update shared on Monday, Chopra’s condition is now stable and improving. His doctor, Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed to PTI that the actor is being treated for a lung infection but remains out of danger. “He is a known case of cardiac ailment and he also had a viral infection, and that’s why I’m treating him for the lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward,” Dr. Parkar said.

Providing reassurance about the veteran’s health, Dr. Parkar added, “He is 92 years old and has age-related issues because of which his recovery takes a little time. He should be fine in another three-four days and go home.” The statement brought relief to fans who had been concerned about the actor’s well-being after reports of his hospitalisation surfaced online.

Earlier, Chopra’s son-in-law, actor and singer Vikas Bhalla, also clarified that the actor was doing well and that the hospital visit was routine. “He is fine. It is a regular check-up,” Bhalla said, dispelling rumours of any serious health concerns.

Prem Chopra has been an integral part of the Hindi film industry for over six decades, appearing in more than 400 films. Renowned for his iconic villainous roles and memorable dialogue delivery, he carved a niche for himself as one of Bollywood’s most formidable antagonists. From Upkar (1967) and Do Raaste (1969) to Bobby (1973) and Kranti (1981), Chopra’s menacing screen presence and trademark dialogue, “Prem naam hai mera, Prem Chopra,” remain etched in cinematic history.

Despite his age, the actor continues to make selective appearances in films. His most recent role was in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal (2023), starring Ranbir Kapoor, where he once again captivated audiences with his grace and charm.

As Prem Chopra recovers under medical supervision, well-wishers and fans across the country have been sending prayers and messages of support. With his condition reportedly improving, the legendary actor is expected to be discharged in a few days and resume his normal routine soon.
