During his November 14 performance, fans in the front row were seen tugging at the singer’s pants while he was on stage, forcing him to repeatedly adjust them as he continued performing. The incident quickly ignited social media backlash, with many calling the behaviour disrespectful and labeling it outright harassment.
The Bengaluru show followed Akon’s November 9 concert in Delhi, with the tour’s final stop set for Mumbai on November 16. The footage, recorded by Instagram user Zumair Khaja, shows Akon engaging closely with the VIP section while performing his hit track Sexy Bitch, a collaboration with David Guetta. Even as several audience members pulled at his clothing, Akon maintained his composure, continuing to sing without pausing the show. Once the clip circulated online, reactions poured in condemning the crowd’s conduct. Users described the behaviour as “sad,” “unacceptable,” and “harassment,” with many expressing disappointment over how the global star was treated.
Some viewers also pointed out that Akon appeared to be lip-syncing at certain moments, sparking additional debate about the performance. Still, the main focus remained on the invasive behaviour of fans and the discomfort clearly visible in the video.
Ahead of the tour, Akon spoke warmly about returning to India, describing the country as “like a second home” and praising its unmatched energy, culture, and audience enthusiasm. His excitement for reconnecting with Indian fans had been evident in interviews leading up to the shows.
