Ajith Kumar’s long-standing passion for motorsports has earned him yet another remarkable honour. The actor was recently awarded the Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025, a recognition dedicated to the late entrepreneur and racing driver Philippe Charriol. Soon after the announcement, a heartwarming photo of Ajith celebrating the achievement with his family in Venice began circulating online, drawing warm reactions from fans.

His wife, Shalini, shared the image on social media and expressed her pride, writing, “Honoured to stand beside my husband in Venice, as he is being awarded ‘Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025.’” Fans responded enthusiastically, with one calling their relationship “dreamy,” admiring Ajith’s passion and Shalini’s unwavering support. Another commented, “He is a gentleman not only on the track but in real life too.”

Despite decades of superstardom, Ajith has often spoken about his preference for a quieter, more grounded lifestyle. In an interview with Anupama Chopra, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly actor opened up about choosing to live in Dubai, explaining that the city allows him to stay away from constant attention while offering better access to motorsport circuits. “It is helping me. I am having to do everything by myself, and I am loving it,” he shared.

Ajith also reflected on why he avoids entourages today. “If you had met me 20 years ago, you’d probably have hated me. I had an entourage. It makes life difficult,” he admitted. He explained that managing multiple people often created unnecessary problems and wasted time. Commenting on rising entourage costs in the film industry, he noted that while such support teams may make life easier for some actors, they also increase production expenses for filmmakers. For Ajith, living simply and independently remains the best way to stay focused—both on and off the race track.
