Actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh’s first look from the upcoming film Border 2 was revealed on Monday, showing him portraying a combat pilot in an aerial battle scenario. The image depicts Dosanjh in a pilot uniform, appearing battle-worn while flying a jet targeted by enemy aircraft, highlighting the film’s focus on wartime aerial combat.
The producers of the film, T-Series, shared the image on social media with the caption, “Iss desh ke aasmaan mein Guru ke baaz pehra dete hain,” referencing the military backdrop. Suniel Shetty, who starred in the 1997 original film, reacted to the post with clapping and heart emojis. Dosanjh also shared a short video of himself in the pilot uniform, accompanied by the song Sandesa Aaya Hai from the first Border film.
Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and serves as a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 war drama Border, which depicted events during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The original film featured Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The sequel brings together a new cast while retaining some original members, including Sunny Deol reprising his role. Other actors in the film include Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta and presented by T-Series in association with JP Films. Similar to the original, the narrative is expected to focus on the experiences, bravery, and sacrifices of Indian soldiers.
Border 2 is scheduled to release in theaters on January 23, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. Promotional materials, including first-look posters of Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, have been released ahead of the launch and have garnered attention, contributing to growing anticipation for the sequel.
