Amaal Mallik’s Bold Acting Demand: ‘I’ll Be the Villain — Only If I Control the Music!’

After Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Mallik reveals he’s receiving South film villain offers — but says yes only if he also composes the film’s music and BGM.

Composer-singer Amaal Mallik has emerged from Bigg Boss 19 with more than just a fourth runner-up trophy — he has stepped into a brand-new spotlight. Known for chart-topping melodies and soulful vocals, Amaal now finds himself at the center of unexpected acting opportunities, particularly from the South Indian film industry.

Following his reality show stint, Amaal disclosed that several filmmakers have approached him to portray villainous characters. While the prospect of acting intrigues him, the musician is clear that he won’t step in front of the camera without asserting his creative identity behind it as well.

In an interview with Mashable Middle East, Amaal revealed that if he takes on a central role in a film — especially as a villain — he would want to be responsible for the movie’s music composition and background score. For him, acting and music are inseparable forms of storytelling.

“Right now, I’m getting many offers to play villains in South films. If I do a movie where I’m a central character, I’d also like to handle the score. I’m genuinely good at background music,” he shared.

Though audiences largely recognize him for popular songs, Amaal emphasized that his experience in film scoring runs deep. He has worked on 47 films, collaborating with some of the industry’s biggest composers and contributing extensively to background soundtracks. From dramatic hero entries to spine-chilling villain themes, he believes he understands how sound shapes cinematic emotion.

“People know me for songs, but I’ve worked on background scores for many films. Whether it’s the hero’s introduction or the villain’s entry, I can create it all. So my condition is simple — wherever I appear on screen, I want to craft the music too,” he explained.

Amaal also pointed to celebrated filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali as inspirations — auteurs who direct their films while composing the music themselves. He feels their artistic model proves that combining performance with composition is not only possible but powerful.

With acting offers pouring in and a firm creative condition laid out, Amaal Mallik seems ready to redefine his career once again. Whether audiences will soon witness him as a menacing villain commanding both screen presence and soundtrack remains to be seen — but one thing is clear: he plans to control the story, the sound, and the spotlight.
