Bollywood star Alia Bhatt continues to carve a distinct space as a producer by backing stories that are heartfelt, honest, and deeply relatable. She has now teamed up with her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, to produce an upcoming coming-of-age romantic comedy titled Don’t Be Shy. The film will be produced under their banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in collaboration with Prime Video.
Sharing her thoughts on the project, Alia Bhatt, co-founder of Eternal Sunshine Productions, revealed that the film immediately struck a chord with her because of its sincerity and youthful lens. She emphasized that the production house has always aimed to support authentic storytelling and unique creative voices. According to Alia, Don’t Be Shy stood out for its emotional honesty and the vibrant energy brought to the story by writer-director Sreeti Mukerji.

Don’t Be Shy is produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions and co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani. Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film adds to the growing slate of female-led and youth-centric stories emerging in Indian cinema.
The story revolves around Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old woman who believes she has her life meticulously planned. However, when unforeseen events disrupt her perfectly organized world, Shy finds herself navigating emotional upheaval, friendships, love, and self-discovery.
