Ram Charan’s Sports Drama Peddi Delayed Once More, Fans Disappointed

Ram Charan’s sports drama Peddi, set for April 30, has been postponed due to pending shoots and his minor on-set injury. Fans must wait longer.

Ram Charan’s highly anticipated sports action drama Peddi, which was scheduled to release on April 30, has reportedly been postponed indefinitely. The film is directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who made a successful entry into Tollywood with the 2021 blockbuster Uppena. Peddi stars Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Boman Irani, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma. The film had generated significant buzz for its unique mix of sports, emotional drama, and action, all set in a rural backdrop, but fans will now have to exercise patience.

Reports from 123Telugu suggest that several important portions of the film are yet to be shot, making it difficult for the production team to release Peddi on the planned date. If confirmed, this will mark the third delay for the film. The release was first pushed from March 27, 2026, to April 30, and now it may be postponed further. Adding to the challenges, Ram Charan recently suffered a minor injury during a high-intensity action sequence. He reportedly received four stitches above his eye, but his eye itself is completely fine. A source told Hindustan Times that Ram Charan has returned to work and the injury is not expected to affect the progress of the film.

Peddi’s story revolves around a cricket tournament in a rural setting, combining the excitement of sports with intense action and emotional moments. The ensemble cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani, brings depth and variety to the narrative. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Ishan Saksena under Vriddhi Cinemas and IVY Entertainment. Music and background score are composed by A. R. Rahman, promising a powerful and engaging audio experience for viewers.

On Ram Charan’s birthday, the makers released a teaser glimpse of the actor in a rugged and muscular avatar, drawing comparisons to a wrestler and raising excitement among fans. Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar, which told the story of an IAS officer fighting corruption. While Game Changer received mixed reviews, it is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Looking ahead, Ram Charan is expected to reunite with director Sukumar for a new project tentatively titled RC17. Fans continue to eagerly await Peddi, hoping the film will deliver a thrilling blend of sports, drama, and action. While the delay may be disappointing, it gives the team more time to ensure the movie reaches audiences in its best possible form.
