Country music icon Dolly Parton has introduced her latest fashion collaboration with Good American. The new collection is called Dolly’s Joleans, inspired by her popular 1973 song Jolene. Along with the launch, new campaign photos have been released where she is seen confidently wearing outfits from the collection.
In these photos, Dolly Parton is seen wearing different pieces from the range. Some of the outfits include a cropped Butterfly Top and Embroidered Good Waist Palazzo Jeans. She also paired a Slim Fit Denim Shirt over the outfit, wearing it like a light jacket. In other looks, she wore items such as the Lace Up Poplin Tank and a bandana inspired Tailored Poplin Shirt, showing a mix of styles from the collection.
While speaking about fashion in a promotional video, she explained her simple approach to style. She said, “You need to wear what you feel good in. That is what I consider real style.”
She also talked about how fashion trends keep changing over time and how she has seen many of them. She said, “I’m old enough to have seen everything come and go … and I’ve worn a lot of it. You gotta have something denim, or you just ain’t with it.”
A statement shared on her official website gives more insight into the idea behind the collection. It says, “With this new Dolly’s Joleans collection, we took a little bit of my past and gave it new life for today. When someone puts these on, I want them to feel bold, beautiful, and completely themselves.”
At the same time, Dolly Parton has been facing some health related issues. Because of this, she had to postpone her Las Vegas residency and also missed her 80th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry in January.
Talking about her health earlier, she said, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” and she added in a light hearted way that it was not her “usual trip to see [her] plastic surgeon.”
Despite these challenges, Dolly Parton continues to remain active in her work and stays connected with people through her music and fashion projects.
