The trailer of Karuppu, starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, has been released ahead of the film’s theatrical release on May 14, 2026. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film is a fantasy action drama that focuses on justice, corruption, and the struggles faced by common people.
The 2 minute and 45 second trailer presents a world where corrupt lawyers misuse their power and trouble poor and helpless people. As fear spreads among the public, the story raises an important question about who will stand up and protect innocent people from injustice. The answer comes through Karuppusamy, a deity believed to deliver justice, who takes human form to help and protect society.
Suriya plays the role of Karuppu, while Trisha Krishnan appears as the female lead. Her dialogues in the film have been dubbed by Chinmayi. RJ Balaji also appears in a major role as Baby Kannan, the film’s main antagonist. Although some portions of the trailer editing appear uneven, the trailer still manages to maintain interest by showing action scenes, emotional moments, fantasy elements, and commercial entertainment.
The film also stars Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Anagha Maaya Ravi in important roles. The music and background score are composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while cinematographer GK Vishnu has handled the visuals of the film.
After Karuppu, Suriya is expected to appear in Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri. The film is reportedly an emotional romantic drama featuring Mamitha Baiju as the female lead and Raveena Tandon in an important role. Reports suggest the movie, which was earlier planned for a July 2026 release, may now arrive during the Independence Day week, although the makers have not officially confirmed the date.
The actor has also started working on a cop action comedy tentatively titled Suriya47. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film stars Nazriya Nazim as the female lead, while Naslen plays an important role. Reports also suggest that a leading Tamil actor may make a cameo appearance in the film, possibly setting up a second instalment in the future, although there has been no official confirmation so far.
