Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is ready to entertain audiences once again with his upcoming Netflix film Kartavya. The actor will be seen playing a serious police officer who struggles between following orders and listening to his conscience. Ever since the trailer was released, fans have been talking about his strong screen presence, action scenes and rugged desi look. One thing that especially caught everyone’s attention was his natural sounding Haryanvi accent, which has become one of the biggest highlights of the film.
Saif has often been praised whenever he takes up realistic and grounded characters, and Kartavya seems to continue that success. Speaking about the role, the actor shared that learning the Haryanvi dialect was not easy at all. According to him, speaking a new accent is much more than just memorising dialogues. He said an actor also needs to understand the culture, emotions and the style of speaking connected with that language. Saif explained that every dialect has its own honesty and identity, and he wanted to make sure his performance looked natural on screen.
The actor admitted that it took a lot of hard work and patience before he became comfortable with the accent. To prepare for the role, he spent time listening carefully to native speakers, reading his dialogues repeatedly and practising every day. Slowly, he started gaining confidence and the accent began to sound more real and effortless. Saif also revealed that director Pulkit was very happy with the final outcome. Even though the actor feels there is always scope to improve, he believes he can now speak a fairly convincing Haryanvi accent after all the preparation he did for Kartavya.
Fans are now excited to watch Saif return in a strong action packed avatar. Apart from Kartavya, the actor also has several major projects lined up. He will next be seen in Haiwaan directed by Priyadarshan and is also preparing for his OTT comeback with the series Hum Hindustani. With many exciting releases ahead, 2026 is looking like a huge year for Saif Ali Khan.
