Southern actor Vijay Deverakonda recently got an unexpected break from work after rain forced the cancellation of his shoot. Instead of letting the change in plans affect his day, the actor used the free time to relax with his parents. Vijay shared a picture on Instagram in which he was seen sleeping comfortably between his mother and father at a place that reminded him of his childhood. The simple family moment showed a more personal side of the actor away from his busy work schedule.
Sharing the picture on Wednesday, Vijay wrote, “Rains Canceled shoots – You get an afternoon nap in your favourite spot as a kid ❤️ Recovery – 1000% (sic).” He also credited his wife and actress Rashmika Mandanna for taking the picture. Vijay’s post suggested that the cancelled shoot gave him the chance to return to a familiar place and enjoy some much needed rest with his parents.
On the work front, Vijay and Rashmika are preparing to share the screen again in the upcoming period drama Ranabaali. The film will be their third project together after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. It will also be their first film together as a married couple after they got married in February this year. Their previous collaborations have already made their pairing familiar to audiences, while Ranabaali will bring them together in a different setting.
Vijay also shares a close professional bond with Ranabaali director Rahul Sankrityan. On June 29, the actor posted a birthday message for the filmmaker and spoke about their journey together.
“Happy Birthday, dearest Rah… Nine years after Taxiwaala, while we have grown into men, nothing has changed about your relentless passion to write meaningful stories and your calm obsession in bringing them to life,” he wrote. “In just 2 films we have fought many battles and odds and saw our 1st film through big love and success. I am right by your side while we do it again 🙂 May the gods always favour you, guiding every story you choose to tell. I’m truly blessed and happy to be – #Ranabaali Written & Directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Excited for the world to see your work,” he added.
According to reports, Ranabaali is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that have not been widely discussed in mainstream history. The film is reportedly expected to look at incidents that were allegedly shown differently in British historical accounts.
For Vijay, however, the latest update was less about work and more about family. The rain gave him an unexpected opportunity to slow down, return to a favourite childhood spot and enjoy a peaceful afternoon nap with his parents.
