Prem Keetanu box office: Veer Pahariya’s film takes a sharp hit on first Monday

Prem Keetanu earned Rs 10 lakh on its first Monday, taking its four day India net to Rs 1.21 crore amid strong competition from Drishyam: The Conclusion.

Veer Pahariya’s Prem Keetanu is struggling to maintain its momentum at the box office after releasing on October 2. The film has seen a noticeable drop in collections after its opening weekend and is also facing strong competition from Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion. With audiences continuing to turn up for the latter, Prem Keetanu has found it difficult to build stronger numbers during its first few days in theatres.

According to Sacnilk, Prem Keetanu earned an estimated Rs 10 lakh from 685 shows on its first Monday. The collection represents a 64.3% decline compared with the Rs 28 lakh earned on Day 3. After completing four days in theatres, the film has collected around Rs 1.21 crore net in India. Its India gross collection currently stands at approximately Rs 1.45 crore. The film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 3 crore, which means its theatrical earnings are still below the reported production cost after four days. The sharp Monday drop has also made it harder for the film to build on the collections recorded during the weekend.

Prem Keetanu is also releasing at a time when Drishyam: The Conclusion is attracting considerably more audiences. The Ajay Devgn starrer has recorded much stronger collections during the same period, creating a difficult box office environment for the Veer Pahariya film. Prem Keetanu will now need to show some stability during the remaining weekdays if it is to improve its overall theatrical performance.

Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and written by Deepak Kingrani, Prem Keetanu is the Hindi remake of the 2024 Malayalam hit Premalu. The film stars Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed, Aparshakti Khurana, Nikhil Vijay and Rakesh Bedi in important roles. Released in theatres on October 2, 2026, the comedy drama follows a group of college friends dealing with relationships, heartbreak, family expectations and career problems as they move into adulthood.

With Rs 1.21 crore net collected in four days, Prem Keetanu now needs stronger weekday numbers and better audience support in the coming days. Its box office performance will largely depend on whether collections can stabilise after the sharp Monday decline, particularly with Drishyam: The Conclusion continuing to compete for the same theatrical audience.
