Comedian Kapil Sharma’s security has been greatly enhanced after a shocking shooting at his newly opened café in Surrey, Canada. Mumbai Police officers came to his house on Friday and so increased security arrangements. It is not known if Kapil will resume shooting for his hit Netflix series, The Great Indian Kapil Show, at Filmcity. The final call is still pending.

Gunshots Fired at Kap’s Caffe During Soft Launch
It happened on July 10, when unidentified attackers fired gunshots at Kap’s Caffe, which is a café owned by Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath. The café recently opened and was soon in the news for its quaint pink-and-white decor, floral designs, and handcrafted coffee. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the property suffered significant damage.

Authorities Suspect Terror Connection in Targeted Shooting
Canadian authorities believe that the shooting was a targeted attack, supposedly orchestrated by the Laddi gang, which is said to be connected to the outlawed Khalistani group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The gang leader, Laddi, is an Indian wanted criminal and is implicated in several terror cases, including attacks on Hindu leaders and pro-India voices.

Statement from Kap’s Caffe: Hope and Resilience
Though Kapil Sharma hasn’t made a public announcement, Kap’s Caffe staff posted a sincere message:

“We opened Kap’s Caffe with aspirations to offer warmth, community, and happiness through good coffee and good talk. To have violence cross into that vision is devastating.”

The post expressed gratitude for supporters standing in solidarity and ended on a firm note:

Let us stand strong against violence and keep Kap’s Caffe a place of warmth and community.
