Television actor Ashish Kapoor, known for his roles in popular Hindi serials, was arrested on rape charges in Pune on Wednesday, September 3, following a complaint by a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her in a washroom during a party in Delhi last month. The two reportedly connected via Instagram before the alleged incident occurred.
Police Track Ashish from Delhi to Goa, Then Pune
After the First Information Report (FIR) was registered, the Delhi Police launched a multi-city manhunt. Kapoor was first traced to Goa but managed to evade the police. He was finally located in Pune, where he was *arrested and taken into custody. Police have confirmed that CCTV footage shows Kapoor and the woman entering the washroom, followed by people knocking on the door, consistent with the woman’s claims.
However, no camera footage capturing the actual incident has been recovered, despite the victim’s claim that it was filmed. Police are currently investigating all angles and gathering statements from witnesses present at the party.
Physical Altercation at the Society Gate
Following the alleged incident, the woman was reportedly involved in a verbal and physical altercation with the wife of Kapoor’s friend near the society gate. According to police, it was the wife who made the PCR (Police Control Room) call, not the victim, adding another layer to the complex case.

Ashish Kapoor, born on October 17, 1984, is now 40 years old. He gained fame for playing Uday in Dekha Ek Khwaab and has appeared in several TV shows, including Saraswatichandra, Molkki Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, Sasural Simar Ka 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Saat Phere, and Ssshhh…Phir Koi Hai.
