Salman Khan Slams Gaurav Khanna for Lack of Involvement in Bigg Boss 19: “Don’t Just Sit Like Furniture”

Bigg Boss 19: Salman Khan Gives Gaurav Khanna a Wake-Up Call, Says "You're Getting Paid ₹17.5 Lakhs a Week, Do Something"

Superstar Salman Khan made a powerful return to the Bigg Boss 19 stage during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar, delivering harsh truths and sharp reality checks to the contestants. One of the key moments from the episode came when Salman directly confronted popular television actor Gaurav Khanna, criticizing him for being largely inactive and invisible in the house.

Despite Gaurav’s massive popularity especially after his role in Anupama and his recent win on Celebrity MasterChef Salman didn’t hold back. While acknowledging him as the “blue-eyed boy of Indian television” and even a “green flag,” Salman drew a brutal comparison, saying Gaurav’s presence in the house was like that of a “piece of furniture.” He added that Gaurav had barely been visible for more than 20 minutes throughout the season so far.

“Aapka ghar mein jo dikh raha hai, ye aapka asal kirdaar hai? (Is what we’re seeing in the house your real personality?),” Salman asked pointedly. He questioned whether Gaurav was feeling intimidated by other contestants and urged him to engage more actively. “This is a competition of the mind. You’re intelligent—why are you not using it?” he added.

Gaurav responded by saying he chose to stay away from the abusive language and aggression that typically erupt during tasks. However, Salman wasn’t convinced. “Your role in the house is like a star cameo jo poster mein nazar aata hai, but picture mein nahi dikhte (someone we see in the poster, but not in the film),” he quipped.

Salman further expressed disappointment, saying the show’s producers at Endemol and Colors had high expectations from Gaurav based on his television persona, but those expectations were not being met. “Don’t make yourself fall. This Gaurav should rise,” he warned. He concluded by stating, “Every actor should be scared of being called ‘overrated’… just don’t lie in the house like forgotten furniture.”

Gaurav, who reportedly charges ₹17.5 lakh per week—making him the highest-paid contestant—was brought in with hopes of creating a strong impact. He is said to have been promised a new show after Bigg Boss. With contestants like Ashnoor Kaur, Awez Darbar, and Nehal Chudasama still in the game, the competition remains fierce.

Bigg Boss 19 streams daily at 9 PM on JioCinema and airs at 10:30 PM on Colors TV.
