The actress arrived wearing a black satin corset gown by Ashi Studio that featured a dramatic flowing train. During the premiere, Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach spoke to Variety about the idea behind the outfit. He explained that the design was inspired by Spider Man but in a creative and artistic way instead of using an obvious superhero theme. Sharing his thoughts, Roach said, “It’s kind of an abstract way to present the spider. You know, in our mind, it’s like this metamorphosis of this woman into this thing. And the jewelry is Boucheron.” His explanation gave fans a better understanding of the creative process behind Zendaya’s striking red carpet appearance.
Roach also reflected on another popular fashion moment from the film’s promotional tour. Although he admitted that he “can’t pick a favorite” look, he highlighted Zendaya’s archival spiderweb dress from John Galliano’s 1997 Circus collection, which she wore at the London premiere in June. That outfit was widely appreciated because it combined classic fashion with subtle references to the Spider Man theme, making it one of the most talked about celebrity looks of the year.
When asked about the fashion plans for the upcoming Dune: Part Three press tour, Roach chose not to reveal much. However, he assured fans that there would be more exciting looks to come and said, “’Dune’ is a bit away, but it’s gonna be great. I’m excited.”
Zendaya also attracted attention last month during a Spider Man: Brand New Day fan event in Paris, where she surprised everyone by wearing a vintage Spider Man T shirt instead of a designer outfit. Roach later revealed that he had bought the shirt on eBay for $34.99. After the event, he shared the purchase on his Instagram Story and wrote, “Style doesn’t always have to cost a fortune.” The statement was appreciated by many fans, who felt it showed that good fashion is more about creativity than expensive clothing.
In Spider Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya stars alongside her husband Tom Holland. The film follows Peter Parker as he tries to rebuild his life after the people closest to him no longer remember who he is.
