Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott have reportedly become parents for the first time. According to reports, the couple welcomed a baby daughter in late July. The news comes a few months after reports about Plaza’s pregnancy first surfaced in April. While the couple has not publicly confirmed the birth or shared details about their newborn, recent photographs have sparked reports that their first child has arrived.
The reports emerged after TMZ published photographs of Plaza carrying a baby while out in New York. The pictures were reportedly taken after she attended a performance of Death of a Salesman. The show marked Abbott’s final performance in the Broadway revival, where he played Biff Loman. His role in the production also earned him his first Tony Award nomination.
Abbott starred in the Broadway revival alongside Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf. Plaza and Abbott were also seen together at the 2026 Tony Awards earlier this year. With Abbott now completing his Broadway run, the reported arrival of their daughter comes during an important period in their personal lives.
Plaza has built a successful career across television and film. She became widely known for playing April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation. She later appeared in popular projects including The White Lotus and Agatha All Along. Her work in The White Lotus earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2023. She also co created the Prime Video animated series Kevin.
Plaza and Abbott have also worked together professionally. The pair appeared in the 2020 film Black Bear and later shared the stage in the Off Broadway production Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
Plaza was previously married to writer and director Jeff Baena, known for films such as Life After Beth. Baena died in January 2025.
