BLACKPINK’s Jennie is once again commanding attention—but this time, it’s for a bold real estate move rather than a chart-topping hit. The K-pop superstar has reportedly purchased a premium building in Seoul’s prestigious Yongsan district for KRW 20 billion (around $14 million). What has truly stunned fans and industry observers is that she allegedly paid the entire sum in cash.
Reports reveal that Jennie bought the property in May 2025, with the ownership transfer officially completed in December. The building is located in Dongbinggo-dong, an affluent neighborhood known for its concentration of foreign embassies and upscale residences. Adding an intriguing layer of history, the property was previously used as the Embassy of Iraq.
The land measures 595 square meters, while the total floor area spans 551.08 square meters. The structure consists of one basement level and two floors above ground, offering substantial space in one of Seoul’s most sought-after areas. With ongoing redevelopment projects nearby, the purchase is also seen as a strategic long-term investment.

This isn’t Jennie’s first venture into high-value real estate. In 2024, she reportedly rented an entire building in Hannam-dong to house her independent label, Od Atelier. The monthly rent was said to exceed 60 million won, reflecting the premium nature of the location. Prior to that, in 2023, Jennie purchased a luxury villa in the exclusive UN Village neighborhood for 5 billion won—also reportedly paid in full without financing.
Industry experts anticipate strong growth in the Dongbinggo-dong and Yongsan areas in the coming years. Major redevelopment efforts are underway, including the reconstruction of Hannam New Town and the long-awaited Yongsan Park project. Construction has already begun in Hannam District 5, while former U.S. military sites such as Camp Kim and the UN Command area are expected to transform into high-end residential and commercial developments.
While expanding her property portfolio, Jennie continues to shine in music. In 2025, she released her solo album Ruby, which received an enthusiastic response from fans worldwide. Her single “Like Jennie” achieved impressive milestones and further cemented her status as a global solo act.
At the same time, BLACKPINK is preparing for a highly anticipated comeback. The group’s third mini album, Deadline, is set for release on February 27, marking their first new group project in more than three years. The five-track album includes “GO,” “JUMP,” “Me and my,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy,” building excitement among fans across the globe.
