Selena Gomez has gone public with her marriage to long-time buddy and record producer Benny Blanco. The pair made the news of their union official in a sweet Instagram statement that included a snap of them kissing and hugging on a lawn. Gomez, 33, merely captioned the snap, while Blanco, 37, wrote, “My wife in real life.
The wedding was held in the Santa Barbara region, where the paparazzi had previously seen a grand outdoor tent and evidence of an upscale celebration. Gomez’s outfit was a custom white halter dress with floral embellishments, and Blanco chose a traditional tuxedo and bow tie. Both ensembles were created by Ralph Lauren.
The news soon attracted congratulations and well-wishes from celebrity friends and fans. Her Only Murders in the Building Hulu show celebrated the news with the tweet, “Our Mabel is MARRIED,” and her beauty company Rare Beauty chimed in with, “So happy for you two.” Camila Cabello and Amy Schumer also expressed their congratulations.
The romance of Gomez and Blanco started out as friendship almost a decade back, triggered by their 2019 hit track I Can’t Get Enough alongside J Balvin and Tainy. Years of being friends later, they are said to have gotten engaged towards the end of last year before the world caught wind of their love life.
Blanco is a busy music producer behind such chart-toppers as Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, Britney Spears’ Circus, and Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger. Gomez started off on Barney & Friends and gained fame on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place before becoming a multi-talented performer with Emmy and Grammy nominations.
With more than 417 million followers on Instagram, Gomez is still the most followed woman on the site. The couple has yet to announce their honeymoon itinerary.
