The makers of Spider Man: Brand New Day have released a new trailer that gives a better look at Peter Parker’s life after the events of Spider Man: No Way Home. The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes 37 seconds, focuses on Peter’s emotional struggles while also giving viewers a preview of a major action sequence involving the Hulk.
The story begins with Peter Parker living alone in New York. After the ending of Spider Man: No Way Home, his girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, no longer remember him. Peter continues to protect the city as Spider Man, but he now has to deal with the burden of keeping his identity a secret without the support of the two people who were once closest to him.
The trailer includes several scenes from the first 3 Spider Man films. These flashbacks remind viewers of Peter’s relationship with MJ and his friendship with Ned. They also show how much his life has changed over the years. One emotional moment suggests that Peter wants to tell MJ the truth about his identity. However, he stops himself because he believes that keeping the secret is the safest way to protect her.
As Peter tries to deal with his personal problems, a much bigger danger appears. The trailer introduces Hulk in a dramatic scene that quickly becomes one of its biggest highlights. Peter asks, “Dr Banner?” Hulk replies, “No Banner, only Hulk!”
The situation soon turns into a fierce fight. Hulk attacks Spider Man and slams him into the ground, showing just how powerful he has become. The trailer suggests that this clash could be one of the biggest action scenes in the film.
Along with the action, the trailer also explores themes of trust, betrayal and responsibility. Peter is shown trying to balance his personal life with the responsibility of protecting the universe, even when he has to face these challenges on his own.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colon Zayas, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Mando. Mando returns as Scorpion, while Bernthal joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Punisher.
Based on the Marvel Comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O’Connor. Louis D’Esposito and David Cain serve as executive producers.
Spider Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release in cinemas on July 30.
