Ready or Not 2 Here I Come continues the story from the first film but takes a bigger and more complex approach. While it expands the world and adds more characters, it also loses the simplicity that made the original film effective.
The story follows Grace, played by Samara Weaving, who survived the deadly events of the first film. This time, she is pulled into an even more dangerous situation. Her younger sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, joins the story when Grace is in the hospital. Soon, both sisters get involved in a larger conspiracy controlled by powerful families.
The plot introduces a deadly game where Grace must be killed before dawn. The rules are simple, and there is a clear goal of gaining power through a position called the ‘high seat’. This setup adds tension as characters not only hunt Grace but also compete against each other.
As the story moves forward, there are multiple betrayals and violent moments. The film maintains a steady pace with frequent action scenes. Some parts feel intense and engaging, while others become repetitive or overly dramatic. The twists in the story are more dramatic than surprising.
A key moment comes when Grace is offered a way out through marriage into the elite group. This creates a moral conflict, especially when her sister’s life is used against her. In the final act, Grace fights back and kills Titus Danforth, played by Shawn Hatosy.
Technically, the film is well made with good visuals and pacing. It uses dark humour along with violence to keep the tone balanced. By the end, the story closes clearly, leaving little scope for another part.
Overall, the film focuses more on scale and action rather than depth. It works as a one time watch but may not leave a strong lasting impression.
