Akshay Kumar Slams AI-Generated Videos: “What’s Worse, Some News Channels Run It as News Without Verification”

The Truth Revealed: Akshay Kumar Denies AI-Generated Videos Claiming He's Playing Maharishi Valmiki

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has issued a strong statement on social media, calling out the circulation of AI-generated videos falsely portraying him as Maharishi Valmiki. The videos, which depict a fabricated trailer with Akshay in the spiritual role, have been making rounds online, misleading viewers and even catching the attention of some news outlets.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Akshay clarified, “I have recently come across some AI-generated videos of a film trailer showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI. What’s worse, some news channels decide to pick these up as ‘news’ without even verifying if these are real or morphed.”

The actor’s response highlights a growing concern over the misuse of artificial intelligence in content creation. With AI tools becoming increasingly sophisticated, fake visuals and videos can now be generated with ease — often blurring the line between reality and fiction. Akshay urged media outlets to exercise greater responsibility and verify content before publishing it. “In today’s time, when misleading content is being produced at great speed through manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to verify and report only after authenticating the information,” he added.

Akshay’s statement not only serves as a rebuttal to the fake videos but also acts as a broader warning about the potential consequences of unchecked AI use in digital media. Fans appreciated his transparency and praised him for taking a clear stand against misinformation.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is currently starring in Jolly LLB 3, the latest instalment in Subhash Kapoor’s popular courtroom comedy series. Released on September 19, the film marks the much-awaited face-off between Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, bringing back the original charm of the franchise.

The film opened to a strong start and, despite a slight dip in collections on its first Monday, has managed to cross ₹59 crore at the Indian box office within just four days of release.

Jolly LLB 3 has received positive reviews from critics. News18 Showsha gave the film four stars, noting the stellar performances of its lead cast. The review stated, “Akshay Kumar brings his trademark screen presence and comic timing, lighting up the courtroom while maintaining the seriousness of the issue. Arshad Warsi’s effortless wit and chemistry with Akshay make their interactions a delight to watch.”

Akshay’s latest role may be fictional, but his real-life stand against misinformation shows his commitment to both his craft and his audience.
