Alia Bhatt absolutely stole the show at the re-release function for the vintage movie Umrao Jaan, paying a beautiful tribute to the Bollywood legend Rekha by emulating her ageless look from Silsila. Wearing an exquisite pale pink saree created by Tarun Tahiliani, Alia exuded old-world elegance and the sweetness of old-fashioned Bollywood, but without losing any modish cool.
The saree, crafted from soft flowing material, was complemented by a modern blouse adorned with delicate embroidery at the collar and an adorable keyhole neckline. This innovative union of classic and modern style imitated Rekha’s classic look but with a twist. Celebrity stylist Rhea Kapoor finished the look with vintage-inspired accessories a coordinating clutch and sophisticated heels that perfectly rounded out Alia’s elegant look.
Alia’s make-up look was equally retro and elegant. Her hair, parted in the middle and done in soft curls, reminded one of Rekha’s classic look in Silsila. A plain bindi and shining feather-shaped earrings were the finales. Her make-up, done by Puneet B. Saini, consisted of bright pink shades and an exquisite highlight that brought out Alia’s natural glow.
