Deepika Padukone Responds to Farah Khan’s Dig: “Amen” to What? Uncover the Truth

The War of Words: Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan's 8-Hour Shift Debate Escalates

Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has finally addressed the swirling rumours of a fallout between her and Deepika Padukone, following her recent comments about Deepika’s work hours. The buzz started when Farah, during her cooking vlog with chef Dilip, joked that Deepika now works only eight hours a day, implying she no longer has time for appearances on their show. The remark quickly went viral, with many interpreting it as a subtle dig at the actor’s work ethic post-motherhood.

However, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Farah set the record straight. She clarified that the comment was made in jest and was never intended to target Deepika. “My eight-hour comment wasn’t a dig,” Farah said. “It was just to make Dilip say that he will now also work for eight hours, when he actually only works for two! People took it out of context.”

She also dismissed the rumours of unfollowing Deepika and Ranveer Singh on Instagram. “To begin with, we were not following each other earlier either!” she revealed. “During the shoot of Happy New Year, we made a pact to communicate only through direct messages or calls, not via Instagram. Deepika doesn’t like public birthday wishes either, which is why you don’t see us interacting on social media.”

Farah further shared that their relationship remains intact and personal, away from the limelight. “No one even knows I was among the first to visit her after her daughter Dua was born. Not everything is meant for Instagram or paparazzi,” she said.

Deepika responded to Farah’s statements by commenting “Amen 🙏” on a post by Pinkvilla, seemingly putting to rest any speculated tensions.

The Om Shanti Om star, who recently became a mother to daughter Dua in September 2024, has reportedly adopted a strict eight-hour workday policy to maintain work-life balance. Sources claim that Deepika walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit due to the production’s inability to accommodate her request. Additionally, she will not be part of the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, reportedly due to her demand for a 25% hike in fees and limited working hours.

Despite the chatter, Deepika has remained silent on the matter publicly. She has always acknowledged Farah Khan as the person who gave her a break in Bollywood with Om Shanti Om and later featured her in Happy New Year. Their bond, as clarified by both, remains unaffected by social media noise.
