Haq Trailer: Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi Lock Horns in Gripping Drama Inspired by Shah Bano Case!

Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam's Sizzling Chemistry Sets the Courtroom Ablaze in Haq!

The trailer of Haq, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, was unveiled on Monday (October 27), offering a gripping glimpse into a powerful story of faith, justice, and identity. Directed by Suparn S Varma, the film is inspired by the landmark Shah Bano case — a historic judgment that reshaped India’s conversation on women’s rights and personal law.

At its core, Haq is an intense courtroom drama that delves beyond legalities to explore larger questions of belief, equality, and truth. Yami Gautam plays Shazia, a courageous woman who challenges injustice and societal conventions in her pursuit of justice. Her defiance sparks a nationwide dialogue on women’s autonomy and faith. Opposite her, Emraan Hashmi portrays her husband — a lawyer who becomes her unlikely rival in court. Their legal confrontation transforms into an emotional and ideological battle, testing the limits of conviction, love, and identity.

The trailer captures the film’s emotional intensity, marked by charged exchanges, stirring dialogues, and nuanced performances. Speaking at the launch, Yami Gautam shared, “This story moved me deeply. It’s not just Shazia’s fight — it’s about countless women who’ve been told to remain silent. It takes just one voice to make a difference.”

Echoing her thoughts, Emraan Hashmi described Haq as “a warzone of ideas, faith, identity, love, and justice colliding all at once — powerful, provocative, and deeply human.”

Director Suparn S Varma called Haq “the story of a voice that shook the nation,” emphasizing that it celebrates courage, dignity, and equality.

Featuring Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, Aseem Hattangady, and debutante Vartika Singh, the film is based on journalist Jigna Vora’s book Bano: Bharat Ki Beti. Produced by Junglee Pictures, Insomnia Films, and Baweja Studios, Haq is slated for release in theatres on November 7, 2025.
