Actor Hina Khan, who made her television debut with Rajan Shahi’s long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has often spoken about how the series transformed her life. From launching her career to making her a household name, the show played a defining role in shaping both her professional journey and financial stability. In a recent conversation with content creator Elvish Yadav, Hina candidly revealed that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai remains the highest-earning project of her career to date.
During the discussion, Elvish asked Hina a straightforward yet intriguing question—between Rajan Shahi, the producer of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Ektaa Kapoor, the producer behind Naagin and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, with whom did she earn more money? Hina responded honestly, clarifying that while she worked with Ektaa Kapoor on popular projects, her longest and most financially rewarding association was undoubtedly with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Explaining her answer, Hina said that her stint on Naagin was for a relatively short duration. She also played the iconic negative character Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay for about six to seven months. However, when it came to overall earnings, she firmly stated that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stood apart. According to her, the sheer length of her association with the show made a significant difference in terms of financial growth.
Hina went on to share that she was part of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for eight years, a period that laid the foundation for most of her financial assets. She admitted that while she continued to work on several projects after leaving the show, the bulk of her wealth was built during her time on YRKKH. The actor acknowledged that the show played a major role not just in her success, but also in giving her long-term financial security.
The actor rose to fame with her portrayal of Akshara Singhania, a character that became deeply embedded in Indian television history. Her performance resonated strongly with audiences, earning her widespread recognition and a loyal fan base. Spending eight years on a single show is a rare feat in the television industry, and Hina’s dedication during that time contributed greatly to her sustained popularity.
After exiting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Hina successfully reinvented herself by participating in reality television. She appeared on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, where she impressed viewers with her grit and determination, finishing as the first runner-up. She later entered Bigg Boss 11, one of the most talked-about seasons of the reality show, once again emerging as the first runner-up and solidifying her presence beyond daily soaps.
In 2018, Hina returned to fiction television with Kasautii Zindagii Kay, taking on the negative role of Komolika. Her transformation from the ideal daughter-in-law Akshara to the glamorous and cunning Komolika was widely appreciated. The performance marked a turning point in her career, proving her versatility and willingness to break away from her established image.
Over the years, Hina has also explored opportunities in films and digital platforms. She featured in movies such as Hacked, Unlock, and Shinda Shinda No Papa, sharing screen space with actors like Gippy Grewal. In addition, she appeared in web series including Griha Laxmi and NamaCool, expanding her reach across different formats and audiences.
Most recently, Hina was seen on the reality television show Pati Patni Aur Panga, where she participated alongside her husband, Rocky Jaiswal. The show concluded in November 2025, with Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla emerging as the winners. Hina’s journey—from a television newcomer to a versatile performer across mediums—stands as a testament to her hard work, adaptability, and the solid foundation laid by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
