“Against My Will”: Janhvi Kapoor’s Bold Stance on AI-Generated Images Sparks a Necessary Conversation – Read What She Said!

"So Many AI Images Circulated Against My Will": Janhvi Kapoor's Shocking Revelation About Deepfakes Will Leave You Speechless!

As artificial intelligence continues to revolutionize the digital world, it’s also triggering serious concerns in the entertainment industry—especially regarding privacy, consent, and creative integrity. At the trailer launch of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, lead actors Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan addressed the darker side of AI, calling for stricter regulation and awareness.

Janhvi Kapoor on AI-Created Fake Images

Janhvi Kapoor, who plays the lead role of Tulsi in Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming romantic comedy, opened up about her discomfort with AI-generated content that misuses her image. Sharing a personal experience, she said,

“When I see on social media, there are so many AI images being circulated against my will. You and I can say it’s an AI image, but the common man will think, ‘Yeh toh yeh pehen ke pohonch gayi.’”

The actress described herself as “old-school” and voiced her support for preserving authentic, human-driven storytelling. She expressed concern that as technology advances, the line between reality and fabrication is becoming dangerously blurred.

Varun Dhawan Calls for AI Regulation

Supporting Janhvi’s stance, Varun Dhawan acknowledged the usefulness of technology but emphasized the urgent need for checks and balances.

“Technology is helpful, but it has its demerits. Laws and regulations are needed to protect actors and their identity from being misused,” he said.

Varun further highlighted that while AI can replicate appearances, it cannot replicate an actor’s essence—what he called the “X-factor.” He noted that this unique charm is what truly sets performers apart and makes cinema magical.

Their concerns echo a broader debate currently brewing in the Indian film industry. Recently, controversy erupted when Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa was altered with AI and re-released in Tamil with a new ending. The move sparked backlash, raising serious questions about creative control, copyright, and artistic integrity.
