Munawar Faruqui Calls The 50 ‘Torture’ — Internet Reacts

Munawar Faruqui criticizes The 50 while discussing Vanshaj’s eviction and opens up about his acting debut in First Copy.

The reality show The 50 has quickly gained attention for its dramatic confrontations, controversies, and celebrity participants. Recently, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui joined the discussion by sharing his candid opinion about the show’s format.

In a video posted on social media, Munawar humorously described the concept as “torture,” referring to its format where celebrities perform tasks while fans stand to win prize money. He specifically spoke about the early elimination of contestant Vanshaj Singh, who was voted out in the very first episode.

Munawar also took a light-hearted swipe at Prince Narula and Karan Patel for their role in the decision to eliminate Vanshaj. Using his signature comedic style, he joked that their actions prevented Vanshaj from progressing further in the competition. He also commented on Manisha Rani, noting that she often appears sidelined during the show.

Reports indicate that the competition has already witnessed multiple eliminations. While 26 participants have been removed from various challenges, seven have been formally sent home so far. Vanshaj Singh remains the first official contestant to exit the show.

Apart from his commentary on reality television, Munawar is expanding his career into acting. He recently made his debut in the web series First Copy, which he says changed his perspective on performing in front of the camera.

Munawar explained that acting is very different from stand-up comedy. While he is comfortable speaking directly to audiences, portraying a scripted character required deeper preparation and understanding.

Set in the 1990s, First Copy follows Arif, a young man from Mumbai who turns to film piracy after facing humiliation at work. The story tracks his rise in the illegal movie distribution world during a time when VCD technology fueled widespread piracy.

As Arif builds his network, he encounters increasing risks from law enforcement, particularly a determined police officer pursuing the operation. The narrative explores ambition, challenges, and the consequences of navigating a morally complex path.

Through both comedy and acting, Munawar Faruqui continues to broaden his creative journey while maintaining his sharp observations on contemporary entertainment culture.
