Veteran actor Satish Shah’s demise has left the Indian entertainment industry heartbroken. The 74-year-old actor, celebrated for his unmatched comic timing and versatility, passed away in Mumbai on October 25 following kidney-related complications. His death has led to an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, friends, and fans, reflecting the deep mark he left on Indian cinema and television over his illustrious career.

Actor R Madhavan was among the first to share a heartfelt tribute. Posting a cheerful throwback picture with Satish Shah and Mandira Bedi on Instagram, he wrote, “The heavens will be a merrier and happier place now. Satish ji, you’ll make the Gods laugh out loud. Thank you for being such a solid wind beneath my wings early in my career. You will be missed deeply — a void that can never be filled. Rest in eternal peace, sir. Om Shanti.” The photo showed the trio posing playfully on one leg, a testament to Shah’s infectious spirit and warmth.

A prayer meet held in Mumbai on October 27 saw emotional attendance from industry veterans including Rakesh Roshan, Shatrughan Sinha, David Dhawan, Johnny Lever, Shabana Azmi, Supriya Pathak, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, and Bhuvan Bam. His Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-stars Rupali Ganguly, JD Majethia, and Sumeet Raghavan also came to pay their respects.

Remembering his close friend, JD Majethia said, “We want to celebrate Satish ji’s life. The songs he used to sing, we are singing today to honor his memory. He always wanted to be remembered with joy and laughter.”

According to his manager, Ramesh Kadatala, the veteran actor collapsed suddenly while having lunch at his Bandra residence. Despite being rushed to Hinduja Hospital, doctors could not revive him. With his passing, Indian entertainment has lost one of its most beloved and joyous performers.
