Actor and author Soha Ali Khan recently opened up about her brother Saif Ali Khan’s long and eventful journey in Bollywood, as well as the traumatic knife attack that left him hospitalised earlier this year. Speaking on a podcast with ANI, Soha reflected on Saif’s professional highs and lows, describing him as someone who has navigated the unpredictable film industry with remarkable grace and resilience.
“I think he has certainly seen lots of ups and downs,” Soha said, adding that in her view, those fluctuations were all part of a normal career trajectory. “He had professional successes and failures—films that were hits and then were not. But I have always seen him as someone people are excited to work with, someone considered a versatile actor. There were no real ‘down downs’. I genuinely feel that his were normal ups and downs, and he is still doing remarkably well.” She further praised her brother for being in a stable and happy phase of life, saying, “He is financially, personally and commercially in a good place.”
During the podcast, Soha also addressed the recent knife attack on Saif, which shocked fans and the film fraternity alike. The incident took place in the early hours of January 16, 2025, at Saif’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, when an intruder broke into his home and stabbed him multiple times. Saif sustained six stab wounds and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent spinal and plastic surgeries. Fortunately, the actor made a successful recovery and was discharged on January 21.
Recalling the distressing event, Soha said, “I was just… I didn’t understand what was happening at that time. Now, with hindsight, I think it was a very random incident that happened. It was a lapse in security. The thief, the perpetrator, did not know which house he was in, and I think he did not realise it in the dark. It was a lapse in the building security, which, of course, people across the country have since addressed.”
Soha’s remarks offered both reassurance and insight into the Khan family’s resilience. As Saif continues to recover and resume his professional commitments, his sister’s reflections underscore his enduring relevance in Bollywood and his ability to stay grounded despite personal and professional challenges.
