Saumya Tandon Says No to Bhabiji Comeback—but Confirms Dhurandhar 2 Return

Saumya Tandon confirms her return in Dhurandhar 2 but firmly rules out a comeback in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0, saying she has moved on.

Saumya Tandon is currently riding high on a successful phase in her career, with her recent film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, continuing to perform strongly at the box office. Best known for her beloved role as Anita Narayan Mishra in the long-running sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, the actor has now addressed speculation surrounding her potential return to the show and shared important updates about her future projects.

In a recent Zoom interview, the 41-year-old actor spoke openly about Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0, Dhurandhar 2, and her evolving career choices. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0 premiered on &TV and ZEE5 on December 22, featuring Vidisha Srivastava as the new Anita after Saumya’s departure from the original series. The return of Shilpa Shinde as Angoori Bhabhi after nearly a decade reignited fan excitement and renewed hopes that Saumya might also make a comeback.

However, the actor put an end to the rumours once and for all. “No, I am not coming back to Bhabiji at all. I have moved on to another project,” Saumya stated firmly. She further explained that her current commitments leave no room for revisiting the show, adding, “At the moment, I am doing something else. So that is totally out of question.”

Saumya also confirmed that she is not part of the upcoming Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! film titled Fun On The Run, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 6, 2026. The film will star Shubhangi Atre and Rohitashv Gour in key roles, but fans hoping to see Saumya return to the Bhabiji universe will be disappointed.

On the film front, there was better news for fans of Dhurandhar. Saumya revealed that she will reprise her role as Ulfat in Dhurandhar 2, slated for release on March 19, 2026. However, she cautioned that her screen time in the sequel will be limited due to her character’s storyline. “My husband has died in the story, so you will see me, but you are not going to have a lot of me,” she shared.

Despite her smaller role, Saumya expressed pride in the impact her character made in the first film. She admitted she hadn’t expected Ulfat to resonate so strongly with audiences, calling it a pleasant surprise.

Saumya Tandon began her television career with Aisa Des Hai Mera in 2006 and later appeared in films like Jab We Met as Roop Dhillon. While fans may miss her iconic Anita Bhabhi avatar, the actor is clearly focused on reinventing herself and exploring new creative chapters beyond her celebrated television legacy.
