Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday is one of the most awaited occasions for his fans. Every year, hundreds of people gather outside his Mumbai home, Mannat, around midnight, hoping to see the superstar wave at them from his balcony. However, November 2, 2026, brought a change to this familiar birthday tradition. Shah Rukh did not make his usual balcony appearance because he has temporarily moved out of Mannat. While fans missed seeing him in person, the actor made sure there was still something special waiting for them outside his home.
Mannat gets a special birthday display
For years, Shah Rukh’s midnight balcony appearance has been an important part of his birthday celebrations. This year, Mannat welcomed fans with large visuals from his upcoming film King instead.
A billboard outside the bungalow also carried a handwritten message from the actor, thanking everyone for their birthday wishes and affection. The note read, “Thank you all for your wishes and love. Sending mine right back to you all.” He signed off with ‘lots of love and a big hug’.
The birthday display also featured two dialogues from King, “King Akela Kaafi Hai” and “Darr Nahi, Dehshat Hoon.” The arrangements gave fans a glimpse of the film while marking the superstar’s birthday.
Shah Rukh Khan captures Sea Link birthday tribute
Mannat was not the only place in Mumbai celebrating Shah Rukh’s birthday. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link was also lit up on Sunday with his pictures and birthday greetings.
Shah Rukh later shared a photograph of the illuminated Sea Link on X. He revealed that he had “sneak[ed] out for a drive” to see the display and thanked Google Gemini for the “KING-sized love”.
King song adds to birthday celebrations
Shah Rukh also marked his birthday by releasing the first song from King at midnight on November 2. Titled Tu Mil Jaaye, the song features Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. It also brings together Arijit Singh’s vocals and Ed Sheeran’s rap.
Although fans did not get the usual balcony appearance this year, the handwritten note, Mumbai’s Sea Link tribute and the new song from King became key highlights of Shah Rukh’s 60th birthday celebrations.
