Shraddha Kapoor’s Brave Face: Actress Continues Filming Despite Severe Injury

Get Well Soon, Shraddha! Actress Suffers Toe Fracture on Movie Set

Shraddha Kapoor has been dominating headlines ever since she began filming Eetha, the upcoming biopic on the legendary Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. However, the shoot recently came to an abrupt pause after the actress fractured her left toe during an intensive dance sequence last week.

As reported by Midday, the injury occurred while Shraddha was performing Lavani, the high-energy Maharashtrian folk dance closely linked with Narayangaonkar’s legacy. A source revealed that the song, composed by Ajay–Atul, demanded swift, rhythm-centric footwork to match the vigorous dholki beats. Draped in a vibrant Nauvari saree and laden with traditional jewellery, including a kamarpatta, Shraddha fully immersed herself in the demanding routine. To embody a young Vithabai with authenticity, she had even gained over 15 kilos. Unfortunately, during one of the rapid steps, she shifted her full body weight onto her left foot, lost balance, and ended up fracturing her toe.

Director Laxman Utekar immediately halted the shoot, but Shraddha, determined to make the day worthwhile, continued filming close-up shots. After returning to Mumbai, the crew resumed work on a Madh Island set, where she managed to shoot several emotional scenes. However, her pain intensified over the next couple of days, leading the team to suspend production once again. Filming is now expected to restart in about two weeks, once she has fully healed.

Eetha is shaping up to be one of Shraddha Kapoor’s most emotionally intense and challenging roles yet. The actress, who was last seen in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), has become increasingly selective, choosing roles with depth and strong narrative arcs.

Despite not having a theatrical release this year, Shraddha remains highly active on social media, where she engages with her 94-million-plus Instagram followers. Recently, she celebrated India’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 victory, expressing gratitude for witnessing a historic achievement.
