Tere Ishk Mein, featuring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has just released its official teaser — and it’s creating a storm online. Loaded with passion, heartbreak, and unbridled emotion, the teaser guarantees a tragic but engrossing love story that’s already raking up huge buzz. Set to the soul-stirring wizardry of A.R. Rahman, the film delves deep into love, loss, and emotional mayhem.
Set in the mystical city of Benaras, the story follows Shankar (Dhanush) and Mukti (Kriti), two lovers torn apart by fate. One of the most jaw-dropping moments in the teaser shows Shankar storming into Mukti’s wedding straight from his father’s funeral. In a stunning and emotionally charged moment, he splashes Ganga jal (sacred water) on Mukti at her Mehendi ceremony, condemning what she has done and cursing her with a son — so that she feels the agony of losing someone who perished in love.
The teaser is symbolic and charged with emotional tension. Director Aanand L. Rai depicts a love story which is anything but idealistic — it is messy, heart-wrenching, and painstakingly human. The visuals are hauntingly poignant, depicting Kriti’s character intoxicated in drink with sorrow and Dhanush’s Shankar descending into violence and turmoil.
This is the third Hindi outing of Dhanush, director Aanand L. Rai, and music maestro A.R. Rahman. The music, composed with Irshad Kamil’s lyrics and sung by Arijit Singh, adds a haunting dimension to the story, raising the stakes emotionally.
Directed by T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions, Tere Ishk Mein makes its global theatrical releases on November 28 in both Hindi and Tamil. With such a powerful teaser, the film is already being referred to as one of the most emotional love stories of the year.
