The First Teaser Of Mirzapur: The Movie Hints At Bigger Rivalries Ahead

The first teaser of Mirzapur: The Movie reunites fan favourite characters, introduces new faces and sets up another battle for power.

The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie have released the first teaser of the upcoming film, offering a look at the return of some of the franchise’s most popular characters. Running for 2 minutes and 22 seconds, the teaser focuses on the intense power struggles and rivalries that have defined the Mirzapur story over the years.

Several well known characters from the series make a comeback in the teaser. Ali Fazal returns as Guddu Pandit, Divyendu is back as Munna Tripathi and Pankaj Tripathi reprises his role as Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi. The video suggests that the fight for power and control in Mirzapur remains at the center of the story, with old conflicts continuing to shape events.

One of the biggest talking points from the teaser is the appearance of Jitendra Kumar as Bablu Pandit. In the original web series, the character was played by Vikrant Massey. The teaser also introduces actor Ravi Kishan, who joins the cast of the film in a new role.

While sharing the teaser on Instagram, the makers wrote, “Witness the epic untold story, this September. Get ready for bhaukaal on the big screen. Watch #MirzapurTheMovie only in cinemas on 4th September in Hindi & Telugu”.

The film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, who previously directed episodes of the Mirzapur web series. Shweta Tripathi will also return as Gajgamini Gupta, a character who has been an important part of the story since the earlier seasons.

Mirzapur first premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2018 and quickly became one of the platform’s most talked about Indian series. The show returned with additional seasons in 2020 and 2024 and has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Set in Uttar Pradesh, the story follows Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a powerful mafia leader who exercises control over the region through influence, fear and violence. The series explores crime, politics, family conflicts and the ongoing struggle for dominance among different groups.

With returning characters, new cast members and continuing rivalries, Mirzapur: The Movie takes the story from streaming screens to cinemas. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 4.
