Actor Zareen Khan is currently dealing with a personal loss after the death of her mother, Parveen Khan. She passed away on April 8, 2026, after suffering from a long illness. The news was shared through an official statement released by the actor’s team.
The statement read, “This is to inform that our beloved Ms Parveen Khan, mother of Zareen Khan and Sana Khan, has departed peacefully to her heavenly abode on the 8th of April (sic).”
Her funeral is set to take place at 10 am on April 8, 2026, in Versova, Mumbai. Zareen had earlier spoken openly about her mother’s health and had also asked her followers on social media to pray for her recovery.
Zareen has often talked about her life struggles and the important role her mother played in her journey. In 2016, when her mother had heart surgery, Zareen reportedly took a break from work to take care of her. She has also said that she was the main earning member of the family and handled most of the responsibilities at home.
Speaking about a difficult time in her childhood, Zareen once said, “There was that one evening that changed our lives completely. My dad had walked out on us and left us. We didn’t have any money because we didn’t come from a space of inherited wealth.”
She further shared, “There was this one night where we were all there together as a family, and suddenly my mother broke down completely. I tried calming her and explained that she doesn’t have to worry, I’ll take care of everything. Ab maine bol toh diya tha (I said it), but here I was, with over 100 kilos, not knowing what I want to do,” she told Pinkvilla.
Zareen also said, “Then, I started a job at a call centre. My sister was still studying, and I had just completed my 12th. I also wanted to get a job in airline. I lost over 52 kilos weight and I almost removed an entire person off my body. But I’m happy that today, my mother feels we have sailed through it.”
Zareen shared a close relationship with her mother, who supported her through every phase of life.
