Welcome To The Jungle is exactly the kind of film it promises to be from the very first scene. It does not try to be realistic or emotionally heavy. Instead, it focuses on delivering nonstop entertainment with comedy, confusion, action and larger than life moments. If you accept its over the top style, the film becomes an enjoyable ride.
Akshay Kumar once again proves why he is one of Bollywood’s most dependable comedy stars. His comic timing and expressions keep the film entertaining throughout. The biggest highlight, however, is the huge ensemble cast. Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johny Lever and Rajpal Yadav all get memorable moments, and their chemistry creates several laugh out loud scenes. Johny Lever, in particular, reminds audiences why he remains one of the finest comic actors in Hindi cinema.
Director Ahmed Khan manages such a large cast well and keeps the story moving at a fast pace. The film also scores with its grand visuals, colourful production design, energetic background score and well placed action sequences. The nostalgic reunion of Akshay Kumar with Suniel Shetty and Raveena Tandon adds another layer of fun for longtime fans.
Welcome To The Jungle is not meant for viewers expecting logic or a tightly written story. It is made for audiences who want to switch off, laugh and enjoy a clean family entertainer. As a theatrical experience, it delivers exactly what it promises and offers a fun, carefree ride from start to finish.
