After months of speculation among fans, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has finally confirmed her partnership with ex-One Direction singer Zayn Malik. The much-awaited song, Eyes Closed, has been scheduled for release on October 10 as a novel combination of K-pop and R&B-pop music.
First registered months ago, the song fueled initial speculations of Zayn’s collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Rosé. Yet, it’s officially announced that Jisoo will share the limelight with the British artist. The fans of both artists waited with bated breath for the news, and the latest announcement only increased the hype about the collaboration.
A teaser posted on both artists’ Instagram accounts provides a hint about the moving chorus:

Together with the audio clip, Jisoo revealed a new photograph where she is standing confidently facing the camera, and Zayn behind her, looking over her shoulder. The close-up photo suggests the emotional depth and love themes of the track.
While there has not been any official music video announcement, fans are optimistic for visuals to follow the release. With the duo’s heavy visuals and artistic sense, a music video would further add to the track’s effect.
Adding to the intrigue, Zayn and his daughter Khai were also spotted going to BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE World Tour in the U.S. as Jisoo’s guests—a moment that created even greater interest in their professional partnership.
