Megan Thee Stallion’s Short Broadway Journey Comes To An End

Megan Thee Stallion will end her Moulin Rouge Broadway run early on May 1 after a brief but widely noticed performance as Harold Zidler.

Megan Thee Stallion is set to conclude her run in Moulin Rouge! The Musical earlier than planned. Her time in the production was limited, but it attracted strong attention from both fans and regular theatre audiences.

She shared the update on Instagram on April 27, confirming that her final performance will now take place on May 1 instead of the earlier scheduled May 17. In her message, she wrote, “Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1 ❤️‍🩹.” She also spoke about her experience in the show, saying, “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater! Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work!” She further added, “I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful,” and thanked her fans, stating, “And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL🥹 See you soon 💙.”

Megan made her Broadway debut on March 24 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She played Harold Zidler, an important character in the story. Her casting stood out because she became the first female identifying performer to take on this role in any version of the musical. The role was originally performed by Danny Burstein when the show opened on Broadway in 2019.

During her run, she missed 2 performances on March 31 due to a hospitalization. She returned to the stage on April 2 and later described the situation as “a real wake-up call.” She shared, “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough,” and added, “It honestly scared me.” She also explained her need to rest, saying, “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have,” and confirmed, “I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.”

Outside of her stage work, she has also been in the news after confirming her split from Klay Thompson. She stated that “trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable” and that she is choosing to “prioritize” herself.

Even with the early exit, she had earlier described performing on Broadway as an important step. She said, “Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” and noted that it was a new creative opportunity she was ready to explore.
