After captivating viewers with its haunting first season, Kohrra is back — and Season 2 looks ready to dive even deeper into darkness. Created by Sudip Sharma, the slow-burn crime thriller returns to Punjab’s misty landscapes, but with a brand-new murder case, a new police station, and fresh emotional battles that promise to test every character to their limits.
Barun Sobti reprises his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi. But this time, his world has shifted. No longer under the command of Sub-Inspector Balbir Singh, Garundi now answers to Dhanwant Kaur, played by Mona Singh. A sharp, no-nonsense officer, Kaur takes charge at Dalerpura Police Station, forming a tense yet compelling partnership with Garundi. Though different in temperament, both officers share an obsessive commitment to solving cases — even as their carefully built emotional defenses begin to crack.
Netflix India’s trailer wastes no time setting the tone. A young woman named Preet is discovered murdered in a horrifyingly brutal manner — a sharp agricultural tool has been driven through her body. But the most disturbing detail at the crime scene isn’t the weapon; it’s the blood-stained footprints. They lead into the house… yet none lead back out. The impossible clue sets off a chain of investigations that quickly spirals into a labyrinth of secrets.
As police dig deeper, Preet’s complicated personal life emerges. Her two children live in the United States with their father, played by Rannvijay Singh. He reveals that Preet was romantically involved with a dancer — who, in turn, was also entangled with another dancer. With each discovery, new suspects surface, and the case expands into something far bigger than a single murder.
Parallel to the investigation, personal storms rage within the officers’ lives. Garundi faces emotional collapse as his wife leaves him and returns to her parents’ home. Meanwhile, Dhanwant Kaur confronts her own nightmare — her husband has been missing for four days. Exhausted, desperate, and under pressure, she fights not only to solve the case but also to prove her dedication in a system that demands everything from her.
Season 2 is created and written by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia, and Sudip Sharma. Produced by A Film Squad Production in association with Act Three, the new season also marks Sharma’s directorial debut, alongside Faisal Rahman.
With chilling crime, raw emotion, and a mystery that refuses easy answers, Kohrra Season 2 looks set to grip audiences all over again.
