Netflix’s upcoming crime thriller Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders is generating immense anticipation as it prepares for its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The film will make its global debut on the streaming platform on December 19, inviting audiences into a deeply atmospheric noir world where a brutal crime pulls Inspector Jatil Yadav into a labyrinth of secrets and shifting truths.

Directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, the film returns to the universe first established in the acclaimed Raat Akeli Hai. Nawazuddin Siddiqui steps back into the role of Inspector Jatil Yadav, the sharp and uncompromising investigator whose moral compass and emotional resilience are put to the test by a case more complex than anything he has encountered before. Produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, the film features a powerhouse ensemble including Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh, Deepti Naval, Rajat Kapoor, Revathy, Ila Arun, Sanjay Kapoor, and Akhilendra Mishra—each playing characters that add depth, suspicion, and emotional tension to the narrative.

Set against the gritty backdrop of Kanpur, the story begins when the wealthy Bansal family is found savagely murdered in their sprawling mansion. Jatil Yadav is assigned to investigate, but the deeper he digs, the more he becomes entangled in a murky web of political influence, deceit, blind faith, and long-buried truths. Every suspect hides a motive, and every revelation opens the door to darker possibilities.

Sharing his thoughts on returning to the role, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “Returning as Jatil Yadav feels like revisiting a part of myself that never truly went away. This film pushes him into unexplored emotional and moral territories. Having it premiere at IFFI before reaching global audiences on Netflix makes it even more special.”

Following its festival debut, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders will release worldwide on December 19, 2025, promising a gripping, layered, and emotionally charged whodunnit experience.
