Netflix has announced two new projects with comedian Samay Raina, ending several days of speculation that began after a series of cryptic social media posts from both the streaming platform and the creator. The partnership includes the return of India’s Got Latent Season 2 and a new comedy special featuring Samay, which is currently being developed for Netflix.
India’s Got Latent Season 2 will premiere on June 20, 2026, at 7 pm IST. The show will be available on both Netflix and YouTube at the same time, allowing viewers to watch it on either platform. After the premiere episode, new episodes will be released every two weeks.
The official announcement came after many fans spent days trying to decode hints shared online by Netflix and Samay. The posts sparked discussions across social media, with users sharing theories and predictions about a possible collaboration before it was finally confirmed on June 19.
Following the announcement, Samay Raina addressed concerns from viewers who believed the show might no longer be available on YouTube. Sharing a message on Instagram Stories, he wrote, “You all really thought I would leave behind my YouTube community that has stood by me through everything?”
He later clarified that the speculation was part of the buildup to the announcement and added, “It was just a prank. Latent will be available for FREE on YouTube (with ads) and on Netflix (without ads).”
Thanking his audience for their support, Samay wrote, “I’m so grateful for all the love you have given me throughout the years. I love you. Let’s break the internet together.”
In another Instagram Story, Samay shared a picture with Netflix’s red “N” logo and commented on the release strategy. He wrote, “Btw this is really cool of Netflix. I don’t think they have ever made this exception for any other show across the world.”
He further added, “First time ever, the same show on Netflix and YouTube both. Same time, same duration. Do send a lot of love to @netflix_in.”
Apart from India’s Got Latent Season 2, Netflix has also confirmed a new comedy special featuring Samay Raina. The project will be exclusive to Netflix and is currently under development. Details about its title, format and release date are expected to be announced at a later stage.
The announcement comes as Samay continues to gain popularity among audiences through his stand up performances, digital content and television appearances. His recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show received significant attention from viewers.
