Actor Ishaan Khatter has been invited to be part of the jury panel for the fourth edition of the Biarritz Film Festival, also known as Nouvelles Vagues. The festival announced the news through its official Instagram page. With this invitation, Ishaan joins a group of well known names from the international film industry who will help judge and evaluate films at the event.
One of the most notable names on this year’s jury is Hollywood actor Kristen Stewart. The panel also includes French filmmaker Nathan Ambrosioni, French actor Suzy Bemba and Canadian actor Whitney Peak. The festival regularly brings together artists and film professionals from different countries, creating a platform for a wide range of voices in cinema.
Ishaan’s selection for the jury comes as his work continues to gain attention outside India. He made his acting debut in 2018 with Beyond The Clouds, a film directed by Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi. The film introduced him to audiences and critics and marked the beginning of his career in cinema.
In the years that followed, Ishaan worked on several projects that reached international viewers. In 2021, he appeared in a cameo role in Don’t Look Up, which featured actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. A year earlier, in 2020, he starred alongside Tabu in Mira Nair’s British drama series A Suitable Boy. The series was released internationally and helped expand his reach among global audiences.
His international profile grew further with Homebound in 2025. The film was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars and later reached the shortlist. The achievement brought additional attention to the film and its cast.
Alongside his international work, Ishaan remains active in the Indian film industry. He is currently working on Jugaadu, an upcoming film directed by Palash Vaswani.
The Biarritz Film Festival is known for bringing together both emerging and established talent from around the world. Ishaan Khatter’s inclusion on the jury reflects his growing presence in international cinema and highlights the increasing recognition of his work across different markets and audiences.
