Cocktail 2 Review: Shahid Kapoor Deserves a Better Film

Shahid shines in a messy love triangle where weak writing, forced conflicts and recycled ideas overshadow the romance

Hindi cinema once struggled to find fresh stories. Now it seems to struggle even to find fresh titles. Cocktail 2 feels like another example of a sequel created more from brand value than creative necessity.

Director Homi Adajania delivers a glossy love triangle set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sicily, but the emotional drama rarely feels convincing. The relationships are forced, the conflicts feel manufactured, and the screenplay often asks viewers to accept irrational decisions simply to keep the story moving.

While the film boasts attractive visuals and decent performances from Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, it lacks the emotional depth needed to make its romance resonate. Shahid emerges as the strongest performer, bringing sincerity to a character trapped in a messy and often unbelievable situation.

The music fails to leave a lasting impression, and despite a somewhat engaging climax, the film never fully justifies its existence. Cocktail 2 is visually appealing but emotionally hollow a glamorous romance that feels more silly than heartfelt.
