ZEE5, Jio Studios and Golden Ratio Films have released the trailer of their upcoming series Ghamasaan, starring Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the series is set to premiere exclusively on the platform on 11th September. The story is set in the Hindi heartland and explores a world where power, politics, loyalty and survival are closely connected. Rather than presenting a simple battle between a police officer and a criminal, Ghamasaan looks at the larger struggle for control within an entire system.
The trailer introduces Arshad Warsi as Maharaj and Pratik Gandhi as Aditya. Their conflict forms the centre of the story, but the battle between them appears to involve much more than their individual differences. Their characters are caught in a complicated environment where personal interests, political influence and loyalty constantly come into play.
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s direction brings the story into a setting where characters are not clearly divided into good and bad. The narrative focuses on people who make difficult choices while trying to protect their position and survive in a world driven by power.
The makers have positioned Ghamasaan as a story built around morally complicated characters. The trailer suggests that both Maharaj and Aditya have their own motivations, making their confrontation more layered than a traditional cop versus criminal storyline.
The series is produced by Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios, along with Piiyush Singh, Abhayanand Singh, Saurabh Gupta and Ashwini Chaudhary for Golden Ratio Films, and Miten Shah of Yaelstar Films.
Before its streaming release, Ghamasaan has also travelled to several film festivals. The project was screened at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Cinevesture International Film Festival and Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
The series brings together Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi and Ishita Dutta, with Dhulia using the Hindi heartland as the backdrop for a story involving power, pursuit and survival.
Ghamasaan premieres exclusively on ZEE5 on 11th September.
