Bhooth Bangla Slows Slightly But Stays On Track

Bhooth Bangla collects Rs. 3.75 crore on second Tuesday, taking total to Rs. 115.75 crore as the film remains steady and heads into a crucial third week.

The Hindi film Bhooth Bangla collected Rs. 3.75 crore nett approx on its second Tuesday. This is a growth of around 15 per cent compared to Monday, though the increase could have been slightly better. With this, the total box office collection of the film has reached Rs. 115.75 crore nett approx.

From this total, about Rs. 35 crore nett approx has come from the first five days of the second week. Based on the current trend, the second week is expected to close at over Rs. 40 crore nett. The film is already classified as a HIT and is moving towards a lifetime total of around Rs. 150 crore nett. However, the pace has slowed a little compared to earlier days, which means the coming weekdays will be important.

The third week will play a key role in deciding how far the film can go. In most Hindi circuits, the film will have a relatively clear run. However, in Maharashtra, it will face competition from the Marathi film Raja Shivaji. This could create some issues in terms of screen availability in that region, though the overall impact is expected to be limited at this stage.

To maintain audience turnout, the distributors have introduced a “Buy One Get One” offer. Under normal conditions, such offers are not always required, but it has been used here to manage competition and ensure steady footfall in cinemas.

For Akshay Kumar, this film is an important success after a period where several of his releases did not perform as expected after the pandemic. Last year, a few of his films did reasonably well, but none reached HIT status. Bhooth Bangla changes that trend by delivering a clear commercial success.

From a trade point of view, regular releases from major actors help keep the box office active. Akshay Kumar continues to release multiple films in a year, similar to Ajay Devgn. This steady output supports the overall theatrical market, which largely depends on star led films to drive collections.
