Ram Charan may play Lord Krishna in Laalo Telugu remake and fans cannot keep calm

Gujarati blockbuster Laalo may get a Telugu remake, with Ram Charan reportedly considered for Lord Krishna and Karthik Subbaraj linked to the project.

The massive success of the Gujarati blockbuster Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate could soon lead to a Telugu remake. Discussions are reportedly taking place to bring the film’s story to Telugu audiences after its remarkable performance in theatres. According to industry sources, producer Mahavir Jain is in advanced discussions for the adaptation. While there has been no official announcement yet, the reported development has already created interest because of the names being linked to the project.

Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate has emerged as one of the biggest success stories in recent regional cinema. The film has reportedly crossed the ₹120 crore mark at the box office despite being made on a modest budget of approximately ₹50 lakh. It has also reportedly become the first Gujarati film to cross the ₹100 crore mark. Its success has shown that a strong emotional story can attract audiences beyond its original language and region.

The proposed Telugu version is expected to keep the emotional and spiritual heart of the original film. However, the makers are reportedly planning to give the story a bigger scale and a more modern treatment for Telugu audiences. The idea is said to be to maintain the emotions that connected with viewers while presenting the story in a way that feels fresh for a new audience.

The biggest talking point is the possibility of Ram Charan making a special appearance as Lord Krishna. The actor is reportedly being considered for an important cameo rather than a full length lead role. According to the reports, Krishna could be presented in a modern and charismatic form instead of a traditional mythological style. His character is expected to have an important connection with the emotional journey of the story.

If Ram Charan joins the project, his presence could become a major attraction. The actor has a strong screen presence and has also taken on emotionally demanding roles. A contemporary version of Lord Krishna could therefore give him an opportunity to present the character in a different way while still keeping its spiritual importance.

Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has also reportedly emerged as a possible choice to direct the Telugu adaptation. He is known for films such as Jigarthanda, Mahaan and Petta and has often mixed commercial cinema with unusual storytelling. His possible involvement could give the remake a distinctive style.

However, the project is still at the discussion stage. There is no official confirmation about Ram Charan, Karthik Subbaraj or the final cast and creative team. Several decisions are reportedly yet to be made before the makers can officially announce the film.

For now, the possibility of Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate reaching Telugu audiences has generated curiosity. If the reported plans become official, the adaptation could take one of Gujarati cinema’s biggest recent successes to a much wider audience with a larger scale and some major names attached.
