Dhamaal 4 Review: A Fun Family Entertainer That Almost Gets It Right

Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and the cast deliver family friendly laughs, though the second half loses some of its comic spark

Director Indra Kumar brings back the franchise’s trademark slapstick comedy with a film that stays true to its roots. The first half is energetic, packed with funny moments and nostalgic callbacks that instantly remind viewers why the Dhamaal series remains popular. Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi slip comfortably back into their familiar characters, while Ajay Devgn makes a stylish entry that adds fresh energy to the story.

The treasure hunt plot keeps the comedy flowing for most of the first half, with several entertaining situations and lighthearted humour that works well for family audiences. However, the film loses some of its momentum after the characters reach the treasure. The story shifts towards a survival adventure, reducing the focus on comedy and making several scenes feel repetitive. While the humour continues, it does not match the freshness of the opening portions.

One of the biggest disappointments is that the pairing of Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Mishra is not explored enough, despite their strong comic potential. Even so, the film avoids vulgar humour and remains a clean entertainer suitable for all age groups.

Overall, Dhamaal 4 may not surpass the original film, but it delivers enough laughs, nostalgia and enjoyable performances to make it a fun one time watch for fans of the franchise.
