Olivia Rodrigo is getting ready for the Christmas season with a new musical release. The 23-year-old singer has announced her first original Christmas single, titled “take me home (4 christmas),” which will be released on Thursday, November 5.

Olivia made the announcement on Monday, November 2, and also revealed that the song will arrive with an official music video. The video will feature actress Cynthia Nixon and comedian Ben Marshall, giving fans another reason to look forward to the release.

Although Olivia has performed Christmas music before, this will be her first original song created specifically for the holiday season. The announcement marks her latest musical project following a series of releases and collaborations this year.

Cynthia Nixon and Ben Marshall join Olivia Rodrigo’s music video

Cynthia Nixon, best known for playing Miranda Hobbes in Sex and the City and its follow up series And Just Like That, will appear in the music video. She will be joined by Ben Marshall, who is known for his appearances on the comedy show Saturday Night Live.

The song and its official video will be released together on November 5 at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT.

Olivia has worked on the song with her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro and songwriter Amy Allen. The three have co-written the track, while Nigro has also taken charge of its production.

Limited edition vinyl and cassette available

Apart from the digital release, fans will also be able to purchase physical versions of the Christmas single. A limited-edition 7-inch vinyl and cassette are available for pre-order through Olivia’s official online store.

The vinyl edition will also be sold at Target stores starting Friday, November 6.

Olivia Rodrigo continues The Unraveled Tour

The announcement comes after Olivia collaborated with Chappell Roan on a remix of “expectations”, which was released in October. Both singers appeared in the accompanying music video, which also featured David Byrne as a game show host.

Olivia is currently continuing The Unraveled Tour in support of her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The tour will run through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027, with scheduled performances in Los Angeles and New York City.

Her upcoming Christmas single adds another release to a year that has included new music, collaborations and live performances.
