Netflix has announced the second season of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, bringing the reality show back with a new group of inmates. The series will once again follow celebrities as they enter a jail like setting and take part in tasks, confrontations and different challenges. The contestants will also have to deal with personal questions, relationships and situations that could bring out different sides of their personalities. The announcement comes after the first season received considerable attention from viewers, with several moments from the show becoming topics of discussion on social media.
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Manisha Sharma, while Malaya Pradhan serves as the showrunner. The reality format places celebrities inside a jail and follows their interactions as they compete with one another. Contestants have to deal with challenges while also opening up about their personal experiences and public lives. Season 1 became widely discussed for its arguments, friendships, confessions and changing relationships. Its most widely shared moments contributed to more than 5 billion views across social media and word of mouth.
The first season also gave contestants a platform to talk about different aspects of their lives. Personal stories, disagreements and unexpected friendships became an important part of the show. As the season progressed, viewers followed the changing equations between the inmates along with the various tasks and challenges they faced inside the jail. These elements are expected to remain part of the second season as well.
Season 2 will bring a fresh group of contestants into the same jail setting. However, the makers have not yet revealed the names of the new inmates. The premiere date and complete contestant list are also yet to be announced. Details about the host and any changes to the format remain under wraps at this stage.
The makers have described the new season through the line, “New inmates. New secrets. Same jail. And a whole new game.” The statement suggests that the basic jail based format will return while the new contestants and their individual stories become the focus of the upcoming season.
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2 is coming soon exclusively on Netflix. More information about the host, contestants, premiere date and format is expected to be announced ahead of the new season.
